Vase With Flowers, Charles Vessière, Nancy, Early 20th Century.

This vase is made of layered glass, etched with acid, in the Art Nouveau style characteristic of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It belongs to the famous École de Nancy. The base of the small vase is made of milky white, matte glass, while the decorative pattern and splashes of color were created by layering and acid-etching layers of glass in shades of dark pink, purple, and brownish red.

Charles Vessière, along with his brother Justin, ran a workshop founded in 1901 in Nancy, as well as a shop where they sold their creations. Their shop, located on Rue Saint-Dizier in Nancy, was a must-visit destination for French arts and crafts, showcasing both the brothers’ original creations and products from other renowned manufacturers.
