Pattern 1871 British « 1st Dragoon Guards » Cavalry Helmet
A rare and authentic British 8171 pattern cavalry helmet from the «1st Dragoon Guards» with frontal helmet plate badge numbered “1” in the center surrounded by the motto "Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense”. Complete with its original leatherliner (worn), itsred horse-hair plume and set of brass chin scales.
The inside of the leather liner shows the size and has a name written in pencil along with a sticker dates in 1964 (see photos).
An attractive and authentic piece in very good condition. All parts are original.
