Bronze Mortar, With Horses Handles. Italy C. 1600.
Bronze mortar, with zoomorphic handles, with a slightly tapered body, the foot stuffed with strong rings. Northern Italy. End of the XVIth / Beginning of the XVIIth Century. The grips with the heads of horses are treated in a particularly realistic way, something uncommon on this type of mortar which often tends to abstraction. Very good state. Two old chips softened at the edge. Slightly convex bottom. This mortar still has a clear, uniform and natural medal patina. Weight: 3.2 kg
