Comes with a booklet from the Navy’s Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service (SHOM, Ministry of Defense).

Historical Background:

The result of a request from the Ministry of Defense in 1978, which sought ultimate precision for the navigation of its combat vessels in the event that the satellite navigation system would no longer be operational. A competition was launched. Omega won it thanks to Technical Director Henri Schneider and his team. The accuracy of this chronometer has remained unmatched (deviation: less than 5 seconds per year).
