GAILLARDOT (Pierre). [Oil on canvas, signed]. Dimensions: 612 x 463 mm. Interesting composition signed in the lower right margin P. [Pierre] Gaillardot. Made with a lot of material, it represents a shimmering expressionist landscape. Painter and watercolorist born in Saint-Florent in Yonne in 1910, Pierre Gaillardot painted, as an autodidact, various subjects, boats, cycling races, in brightly colored shots. Has appeared in many annual Parisian Salons, and in particular, at the Painters Witnesses of their time and at the Nationale des Beaux-Arts ''. (in Bénézit). Bénézit IV, Dictionary of painters, p. 582. Slight jumps of paint on the margin of the canvas. Besides, very good condition.
