Alexandre Auffray born in St Nazaire on March 14, 1869, died in Paris on July 18, 1942, pupil of Bonnat, Jean Paul Laurens and Constant Benjamin, he exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in 1922, present at the Salon des Tuileries still lifes and views of Cahors. We owe him genre scenes, still life and landscapes. In 1909 he was invited to Buenos Aires to decorate the walls of the Bénezit art museum volume 1 page 318
