Fireback at the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th century, taken from the Malakoff tower 1855. Commemorative of The French victory against the Russian defenders brought about the fall of the city and contributed to hasten the end of the conflict of the Crimean War. Conflict between 1854 and 1856 between the Russian Empire and a coalition made up of the Ottoman Empire, the Empire of Napoleon III, the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Sardinia. It is triggered by the fear of seeing the declining Ottoman Empire fall to Russian expansionism.
