Stunning, rare and verylarge pre-Columbian terracotta ERCARUZ culture (Mexico) statue V ciracca 600-900 AC,
The statue body is hollow and is in fact funeral urn.
This piece comes from the Claude and Jeanne VERITE collection famous for... african art !
Very large (approx 56 cm high and 38cm diameter )
Condition: Previous restorations and taken over by our specialized restoration workshop, especially fel around the neck, at the junctions between the hips and body, and right wrist holding a kind of scepter / stick,... The piece is very heavy with thick terracotta due to the statue large size.
Black scarifications around the face, very expressive.
