Of Chinese origin, these very beautiful gray and red soapstone seals are reminiscent of the fine Quianlong seals regularly carved from the same mineral. The latter seems to have been much appreciated at the turn of the twentieth century, dating corresponding to this pair of ancient Chinese seals.
