marugata iron tsuba, chiselled in marubori sukashi and decorated in gold nunomezogan. The decor represents plum blossom. Two holes are drilled in the tsuba, the kogai hitsu ana and the kozuka hitsu ana, used to pass the top of the handles of the kogai and kozuka, when the sword is in its scabbard. Signed Bushū Ju Masayoshi Sagami from the Bushū Itō School.
