"XVIIIth Cty Bordeaux Ceramic With Curious Palombe Hunting Thema"
XVIIIth century, Bordeaux ceramic plate with a curious (and unpublished to my knowledge!) traditional palombe hunting representation. Folk art depicting french South West traditions, showing a hunter tending nets - also called 'palombières', one of which holds a bird prisoner as bait for other prey. "Grand feu" earthenware production, in green shades and manganese outlines.
Condition: only 2 light gins on the edge of the plate (please check photos)
Sizes: approx 24cm diameter
