Medical: Magneto-electrique De Davis Kidder For France, 150 Years Old
Here is antique medical object, at the cutting edge of progress circa 1860, an electromagnetic magneto, intended to treat nervous diseases, to heal, it was also used by dentists .... a model of Davis & Kidder, invented in 1854, and sold in France by Bariseel in Amiens, as seen signed in gold on the blue velvet of the lining of this box. It is a hand-held magneto, a blued steel electromagnet, a worked gilt bronze crank which drives a beautiful openwork bronze wheel which rotates by means of a leather strap (which we do not have) a set of two coils covered with blue velvet ..... two electrodes, (which we do not have) connected static electricity to the patient.
