Pair Of Angels On A Console, Gilt Wood, Regency Era.
Pair of angels on a console, gilt wood, Regency era.
Very baroque in spirit, this pair of puttis dancing on their console was certainly part of a large gilt wooded decor. The shape of the console can date this piece of the first third of the eighteenth century. Closer to the southern french rococo, as found for example in Avignon and Aix en Provence.
Some lacks, restorations to the gilding.
Carved and gilded wood.
