Large Louis XVI Lemontree And Mahogany Commode Late 18th Century
Large Louis XVI period commode lemon tree, mahogany and brass veneer. This is a Parisian work, late 18th century production (Louis XVI, Directoire). It opens with two large drawers and a row of 3 smaller drawers under the white marble. Not stamped, it is the work of a great Parisian cabinetmaker close to the work of Godefroy Dester.
This beautiful furniture is a refined production of late Louis XVI or the Directoire. It shows a high level craftsmanship with refined wood veneers (lemon and mahogany)
Our piece is in outstanding condition. It comes straight from our restorer who made the varnish in a traditional way. Collector's item, rare to find. Some gercures on the flanks, small spots to the white original marble. Locks were changed at the 19th century.
