Pendule Aux Negres - The Nanny
Curious and rare pendulum in chiseled bronze, gilded and patinated which represents "The African nurse". The dial is inscribed in a bundle of sugar cane, surrounded by a braided rope. It is supported on the head of a black, enamelled eyes, the headdress and the loincloth imitating feathers. She hung around her neck by a chain, her young child sleeping in a basket under her blanket. Oval base with shell and reeds. Empire period.
