WILHEMUS VAN EERNHOORN (1691-1759): "Educator between piety and enlightenment" he is characterized. Eenhoorn was a preacher. First three years in Aalsmeer and then celebrate thirty years in Arnhem. The last eight years of his life, he was a resting preacher at Maarssen. In the study room on his outdoor place "Hoornoort" he wrote the educational work above. Unicorn wanted his educational precepts. Base on "reason, experience and scripture". He consults all kinds of writers on education, both secular writers like John Locke and Jean Pierre de Crousaz, as well as church writers such as Cooler.
Jan Maurice Quinkhart (Rees, Germany 1688- Amsterdam 1772): He was a pupil of his father, Julius Quinkhardt the Elder. He mainly paints family portraits, allegorical or mythological subjects and individual portraits, of which he has made his specialty and realized a large number. Quinkhard was active in his hometown until 1710, when he arrived in Amsterdam and became a citizen. Jan Maurits Quinkhard collaborated with Jacobus Houbraken and other important engravers on prints of rich and famous Amsterdam personalities.
