Faience Statuette Representing The Bust Of Bes

Bes is in a pretty static posture. The back of the object is quite flat. This faience is characterized by an intense blue, darker in the hollows. Egypt, Roman period, around 50 PCN. The lower part of this protective god of the hearth is absent. Some lack of blue enamel on the headdress, nose and belly. But the state of the object remains very satisfying and pleasant. A very similar object is found at the Metropolitan Museum in New York, listed under No. ECM 1508. H_11 cm. 4.7 cm. Personal collection for about 10 years.
