Ethnic Dagger From Sudan
We present this superb traditional East African arm dagger, likely originating from Sudan, used by Mahdist warriors in the late 19th or early 20th century.
The blade features geometric engravings typical of the craftsmanship of this region.
The leather sheath, fitted with a braided leather cord, allowed the weapon to be secured around the arm for quick access.
These daggers are associated with the warrior traditions of Sudan and the period of the Mahdist Revolt (1881–1899), waged against Anglo-Egyptian occupation.
In superb condition, with a beautiful patina.
