These Louis XV bronze candlesticksrest on a wide base with undulating contours composed ofcurves and counter-curves. The baluster-shaped shaft rests ona prominent navel and echoes the sinuous motifs of the base. Thecandle holders are topped with a contoured candle shield. The decoration isfinely chased with various floral motifs; the original silver plating hasgiven way to a patina with golden highlights of the most beautiful effect,which reflects the light and sparkles to brighten and embellishthe interior where these candlesticks will be placed.
