Vermeil Brooch, Napoleon III.
This adorable little brooch is made of vermeil and set with small pearls. It is painted inside an oval medallion with a small miniature representing a cupid near a basket of flowers and on a green background. The upper part simulates a flower, bordered on either side by a branch. It measures approximately 4 cm long and 1.5 cm high. It bears a hallmark on the pin and on the hook which appears to be a boar's head. A small pearl is missing from the center of the flower. Napoleon III period.
