Chinese Plates, 20th Century.

These two plates were made by Henri Chaumeil, 1877-1944, a ceramist who made various copies imitating the production of the Hannong as well as that of the Manufacture des Islettes, he also made contemporary ceramics, he studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs and exhibited his works at the Salon des Artistes Indépendants, the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs. The plates we are offering bear his mark "CH" on the reverse, they represent on one, a Chinese fishing, and on the other, a Chinese holding a bird on a twig. Both are contoured in the spirit of 18th century plates and are hand-painted in polychrome. Early 20th century. Excellent condition. Diameter 24 cm
