Salt Cellars In Silver Early 19th Century.

Artist: Joseph Thredder Ou James Tender
In solid silver, this set of salt cellars is of English origin. They date from the beginning of the 19th century and have retained their midnight blue glass interiors. Their decor is still inspired by the Directory. Oval in shape, they rest on four greenhouse-shaped legs surmounting a small sphere, the openwork perimeter is made up of a frieze of arcatures topped with small stars. On one side is engraved the ALP monogram. in English, the other three are decorated with a tureen inside a reserve. They bear the mark of Master Goldsmith IT For Joseph Thredder or James Trender who practiced in London from 1810 and the date letter is a C. for 1818. In good general condition, one or two small accidents and a few tiny chips should be noted on the edge of the glass cups. Dimensions: length 7 cm, width 5.2 cm, height 4.5 cm.
