19th-century Engraved Glass Tumbler

A finely engraved crystal wedding glass dating from the early 19th century.

On one side, it bears the name “Charlotte Le Merchier,” inscribed in the center of a delicate floral garland.

On the opposite side is a charming allegorical composition depicting two angels, each holding a crown and a heart, flanking an altar surmounted by an urn.

The base of the glass is faceted, with a star-decorated pontil.

This set comes with its original black leather case, which has a beautiful antique patina. The case’s clasp is missing.

Period: Early 19th century.
