Wall-mounted Console Table In Green-patinated Wrought Iron With Gilded Accents, Marble Top, Circa 1940–1950
An elegant half-moon-shaped wrought-iron console table, resting on two curved legs featuring the volutes and scrollwork typical of the Neoclassical style.
The openwork band is adorned with foliage motifs and wrought-iron “C”s, accented at the corners by two acanthus rosettes made of repoussé sheet metal with a patinated gilding.
Below the band, each leg features a bud-shaped pendant, also gilded. Small copper or brass bands accentuate the scrollwork.
The structure retains its antique green patina, with a lovely aged tone.
The slightly veined white marble tabletop, with rounded front corners, rests on the band. Its soft cream hue complements the green of the ironwork well.
Condition: good, showing signs of use. Original patina with minor paint wear and small areas where the gilding is missing, as shown in the photos.
