Miniature Frame, Hair Piece, Souvenir, Flower Basket, Napoleon III, 19th Century
Framed hairwork miniature, a “Souvenir” piece from the Second Empire period—Napoleon III, 19th century. The central motif consists of a bouquet of flowers arranged in a wicker basket, all protected by a domed glass cover.
This hairwork piece is in good condition. A fine example of sentimental art from the period, these objects were generally given as tokens of love, fidelity, or family mementos (or in mourning).
