Superb and rare pair of fibula probably in solid silver encrusted with enamels, set with semi-precious stones or pieces of cut glasses and coral balls, jewelry Berber Amazigh from Morocco, vintage late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. From the collection of photographer Jean Besancenot.

We currently have on sale several Berber jewelry from this collection by photographer Jean Besancenot.

Usual wear WELL look at the pictures, to note a lack, visible on the photos.

Amazigh jewel : Jewel made by the Berber peoples from antiquity to the present day, often in molded silver, carved or with inlays of mother-of-pearl, coral or enamels. The peculiarity of this goldsmith is the fact of being able to create pieces of gigantic sizes. They are very often of three colors: green, yellow and blue. The green represents the sowing, the yellow the harvest and the blue the floods. The jewel plays an important role in the feminine social life and is a complement of the costume. Most of these jewels (fibulae, bracelets, earrings) are worn in pairs.
