Small Renaissance Sideboard, Walnut, 2 Recessed Sections, 4 Doors, Four Panels, 17th Century

A very pretty small two-part sideboard made of solid walnut, known as a “diminutif.”
The front opens with four doors featuring richly carved panels adorned with foliage, volutes, arabesques, and carved mirrors.
The pediment, as well as the band below the central top, are adorned with lovely carved consoles.
All the rear stiles, as well as the front stiles, are embellished with a beautiful vertical motif known as “bird feathers.”
Our piece rests on two straight rear legs and two ball-shaped front legs; the entire piece is topped by a wide molding.
The sides are all paneled and embellished with inlaid fillets.
This piece is small in size, making it easy to place in any interior.
A very fine piece from the early 17th century, characterized by high-quality craftsmanship and great refinement for its time.
The stiles are very thick and in perfect condition—a rarity for a piece of furniture from this period.
We note some routine repairs carried out at various times: a patch on the lower right molding (see photo), repairs to both rear legs, extensive filling work on all panels—particularly the lower left panel—as well as internal reinforcements on that same panel.
Please note that this piece dates no later than the early 17th century!!! and that, given its age, it is in very good condition.
