Majorelle "lierres" Pair Of Armchairs
A rare pair of armchairs with a frame of carved and molded walnut in a dynamic shape. The slightly flared backs consist of two panels framed by sinuous stiles. The upper section is enlivened by an elegant carved and openwork decoration featuring plant motifs, centered on a stylized floral composition and extended by organic lines evoking ivy.
The generously curved armrests flow seamlessly into the side posts and rest on strongly arched front legs, which end in a slight curl. The seat band echoes the naturalistic style of the entire piece, with supple moldings and sculpted elements.
The seats feature upholstery and a polychrome botanical fabric, in a palette of almond green, turquoise blue, yellow, and powder pink, fully contributing to the piece’s naturalistic aesthetic. The particularly elaborate textile pattern features a stylized floral composition consistent with the decorative language of Art Nouveau.
