Dinh Van Large Handcuff Ring In Yellow Gold

A ring designed by Dinh Van, a large piece from the iconic Menottes collection—one of the French jewelry house’s most recognizable designs.

Created in the 1970s, the Menottes have become one of Jean Dinh Van’s signature motifs, perfectly illustrating his vision of contemporary jewelry with clean lines, where the simplicity of the forms is combined with a strong graphic identity.

Crafted in 750/°° yellow gold (18 KT, owl hallmark), this ring features two stylized handcuffs, intertwined in a fluid and harmonious movement. Their generous, curved lines come together in a particularly balanced composition, with openwork details that visually lighten the structure.

Although the overall profile is relatively flat, the interlacing of the two elements creates a subtle play of relief, accentuated by the polished surfaces of the yellow gold and the way light reflects off them, highlighting the curves of the design.

The design retains a certain realism, particularly thanks to the characteristic notches on the cuffs, directly inspired by the clasp system conceived by the designer and which has become emblematic of his collections.
