Beautiful gilded wooden console table, 19th-century
Original gilding, white marble top ...
This half-moon console table is characteristic of the 19th-century Neoclassical style. It features several typical decorative elements:
- The band: Fully openwork and carved with interlaced friezes and plant motifs, centered by a ribbon bow from which emerge garlands of cascading flowers.
- The base: Composed of two tapered, fluted legs, adorned with acanthus leaves and topped with rosette-adorned connecting blocks.
- The crossbar: The legs are joined by a sinuous, cantilevered crossbar, richly carved with foliage, at the center of which rests an urn or vase in the antique style.
