A superb little ladies' writing desk made of blackened wood with Boulle marquetry in tortoiseshell and brass, featuring seven drawers, with ornate front and sides, a veined white marble top, gilded bronze hardware, a drop-down panel revealing a shelf and two drawers, and a felt-lined top beneath which is a stenciled mark by Romain Magniant, a gilder on Rue Traversière in Paris.Napoleon III period
