Vasari "clouds" Earrings, 1980s

Vasari “Nuages” Ear Clips, 1980s
Pair of “Nuages” ear clips in 18k yellow gold. The scrolls are pavé-set with diamonds. Each clip is adorned with three pear-shaped rubies in a closed setting and three white cultured pearls.
Signed Vasari.
Made in Italy, 1980s.

Features
Dimensions of one clip: 4.5 x 2.1 cm.
Closure: lever-back system, for unpierced ears (a post can be added).
Gross weight: 33.4 g (18k gold – 750/1000).
Hallmarks: owl hallmark.
Vasari signature on each clip and on each clasp.

Condition
Vasari ear clips in very good overall condition, nearly new.
The setting is clean and even; the diamonds are bright. The six cultured pearls, sized between 7.5 and 7.6 mm, display a slightly pinkish luster that adds warmth to the overall piece.
The rubies, with few inclusions, have a uniform color: a red that shifts toward wine-red, with a hint of purple in places.
The clips are signed twice—on the body of the piece and on the clasp—proving that they have not been altered since their creation.
The substantial gold weight is typical of the 1980s, when gold was still relatively affordable. It provides a secure fit and real volume on the ear, without feeling overly heavy thanks to the flexibility of the scrolls.
A meticulously crafted pair that can be worn alone with a simple outfit, allowing the design to take center stage.
