A wide silver platinum band ring (sterling silver coated with platinum), set at the center with a beautiful oval-cut opal weighing approximately 2.50 cts. The upper edge of the band, as well as the inner shank, is fully pavé-set with diamonds. Signed Lorenz Baümer Paris, with partial maker’s mark.

Condition:
Very good overall condition. Silver platinum is a traditional technique that combines a silver base with a platinum overlay. Lorenz Baümer uses it with precision and intent, balancing technical performance with aesthetic appeal: the strength and cool whiteness of platinum meet the malleability of silver, resulting in a luminous, lasting finish. This treatment also protects the silver from oxidation, helping the jewel retain its brightness over time. The opal displays vibrant play-of-color in blue and green tones. A small surface nick is visible upon close inspection, minor and without structural impact. The diamonds are well-matched and of fine quality, enhancing the overall brilliance and providing a striking contrast with the soft gray sheen of the metal.
