Pair Of 18th-century Baroque Paintings (italian Gouaches) On Vellum.

Pair of 18th-century religious gouaches.
They are Italian, Baroque in style, painted on vellum, and
are in very good condition.
The first is titled "S: JOSEPHUS. " in gold on a gray background
and the gouache is bordered by a black frame and a gold frieze.
It is further bordered by gold lines all around.
The condition of the artwork and the support (vellum sheet) is perfect.
The frame is period and original, made of wood and gilded stucco.
Two tiny chips.
Overall dimensions: 34 cm x 30 cm. The gouache itself, including the outlines, measures
19.5 cm x 14 cm.
The second is titled “CRUCIFIXUX EST” in gold on a gray background.
The border follows the same design as the other.
Same frame with slightly different dimensions.
Total dimensions: 33.5 cm x 26.5 cm. Gouache alone: 20.5 cm x 13.3 cm.
