Green Modular Sofa Set "orbis", Luigi Colani For Cor, Germany, Circa 1970

“Orbis” modular seating set with a Space Age design and exceptional size, created by Luigi Colani for COR, upholstered in its original green fabric, Germany, circa 1970.

Designed by Luigi Colani (1928–2019), manufactured by COR, West Germany, 1969–1970s.

The set consists of 5 seating units, a footstool, and 2 coffee tables. Rare original green woven fabric, in excellent condition. Original leather straps secure the cushions to the black-lacquered wooden frames.

The seating units are mounted on their original casters and can be connected to one another using leather straps located underneath. The seat cushions are removable, and the fabric can be taken off. The original padding underneath is very well preserved. Includes a hard-to-find ottoman, as well as two original COR side or sofa tables made of black-lacquered bentwood with white tops.

In very good condition, well-maintained, and entirely original, with slight signs of age and wear.

Provenance: private collection in southern Germany, first-hand, acquired in 1970.
