Antique Painting Landscape With Figures Oil On Canvas XVIII Century
Oil on canvas. 18th-century Venetian school.
The landscape—rather barren, with snow-capped mountain peaks in the background—features, in the foreground, a family of shepherds sitting and resting on the side of the road outside the village, while their herd drinks from the nearby stream; Meanwhile, they chat and ask for directions from a local woman passing along the path with a basket under her arm.
Restored and re-stretched, the painting is presented in a period-style frame.
