Inlaid And Carved Walnut Column Clock

An elegant and imposing Venetian-made column clock, dating from the late 18th century, during the Louis XVI period. The slender and architecturally articulated structure is crafted from walnut, embellished with refined inlays of wood in various shades and rich carved elements, which lend the piece remarkable decorative value.
The case stands out for the understated elegance of its proportions and the sophistication of its ornamentation, featuring neoclassical decorative motifs that characterize the upper section, enriched by a shaped cornice and crowning ornamental elements. The central body, divided by panels and molded frames, features exquisite craftsmanship on the wooden surfaces, enhanced by the color contrast of the woods used.
The painted dial, framed by refined decoration, retains the charm of 18th-century clockmaking and blends harmoniously with the case’s elegant structure.
Of particular interest for the quality of its craftsmanship, the richness of its inlays, and its compositional balance, this clock stands as a significant example of Venetian cabinetmaking in the Louis XVI style, ideal for enhancing formal spaces and collections of fine antiques.
The clock is in perfect working order.
