Pair Of Very Rare Vases In Carved And Gilded Wood With Painted Sheet Metal Planters, Rome, 1780

This pair of vases from the Louis XVI period is extremely rare. The virtuosity of the carving reflects the Louis XVI style in every detail.
The gilding is completely intact. The painted sheet-metal planters are decorated with idealized landscapes and a few figures. Very good condition, exceptional craftsmanship in the carving. Italy/Rome, circa 1780.
