"Series Of Twelve Vestal Virgins In Gilded Wood, From The Library Of Alberto Bruni Italy, 18th Century"
From the former library of Alberto Bfruni Tedesco in Turin. He was the father of Carla Bruni. The extremely finely carved figures exhibit a refined elegance and appear to be in motion. They are partly endowed with attributes and dressed in long togas. There is an old large-format slide of the library on which the figures can be seen. It is possibly a Roman work from the late 18th century. Three of the figures were probably added in the 19th century to complete the library's furnishings.
