Important Carved Oak Cabinet – Renaissance Style – 19th Century
A very beautiful and imposing two-section oak cabinet in the Renaissance style, made in the second half of the 19th century.
This piece features an elegant and balanced design, consisting of two stacked sections, each opening with two doors featuring heavily molded panels and diamond-point decoration.
The front is particularly richly carved, with remarkable foliage scrollwork and acanthus motifs adorning the vertical posts as well as the wide frieze located beneath the upper cornice.
The central section is adorned with two drawers featuring molded fronts, separated and framed by beautiful consoles carved with acanthus leaves.
The piece is topped by a substantial overhanging cornice and rests on flattened ball feet, characteristic of traditional Renaissance furniture.
The doors retain their long metal pins as well as their decorative keyholes, contributing to the authentic character of this piece.
The oak features a beautiful antique patina in warm brown tones, which particularly highlights the depth of the moldings and the delicacy of the carvings.
