Pastel portrait of Anne-Josèphe Bonnier de La Mosson (1718–1787), Duchess of Chaulnes, based on the eponymous painting created in 1744 by Jean-Marc Nattier, housed at the Louvre Museum.
The work is executed on blue paper mounted on canvas, the entire piece mounted on its original stretcher. There is a small restoration in the background of the work (top right), which in no way detracts from the subject.
