A striking vintage British studio pottery bird jug by renowned ceramicist Emmanuel Cooper OBE.

The handmade jug has a flattened, stylised avian form with a curved body, integrated arched handle and an elongated, upward-pointing beak forming the pouring spout. Its sculptural silhouette is enhanced by a coarse, tactile turquoise-blue matte glaze with fine granular speckling, covering both the interior and exterior.

The underside features an unglazed pointed-oval foot surrounding a glazed central recess and bears Cooper’s impressed maker’s stamp, confirming authorship.

An unusual and highly decorative example of British studio pottery, suitable for display as a sculptural object, vase or functional jug.
