Vintage Italian Sterling Silver Dial A Drink Recipe Cocktail Shaker 515g 21cm
Vintage Italian Sterling Silver “Dial-a-Drink” Recipe Cocktail Shaker, circa 1960
A rare and ingenious Italian “Dial-a-Drink” cocktail shaker, crafted in solid 925 sterling silver and dating from the mid-20th century.
The shaker features an innovative rotating outer sleeve. Turning the sleeve aligns the chosen cocktail name with a series of cut-out windows, revealing the appropriate ingredients and proportions engraved on the inner cylinder.
The selection includes numerous classic cocktails, such as the Bacardi, Bronx, Clover Club, Dry Martini, Gin Rickey, Manhattan, Orange Blossom and Palm Beach. Individual windows reveal ingredients including dry gin, vermouth, crème de cacao, grenadine, lemon juice and ice.
The beautifully engineered three-piece form comprises a generously proportioned tapered body, a domed strainer cover and a removable drinking measure or cap. Its clean lines, polished silver surface and entertaining mechanical design make it a particularly desirable example of vintage luxury barware.
The underside bears an engraved interlocking cipher together with Italian silversmith registration marks and a clearly stamped “925” silver purity mark within an oval cartouche.
Presented in good vintage condition, with light surface scratches, small marks and gentle wear consistent with its age and intended use. The rotating recipe mechanism operates as intended.
