Art Nouveau-style Bronze Chandelier, In The Spirit Of The école De Nancy—circa 1900
Art Nouveau-style bronze chandelier, in the spirit of the École de Nancy – Circa 1900
A superb antique chandelier with a richly crafted bronze frame, adorned with volutes and finely chiseled plant motifs characteristic of the Art Nouveau decorative style.
It is adorned with eight glass paste tulips in warm shades of amber, orange, yellow, and green. The original tulips were replaced in 1990 with tulips manufactured by the Tief company.
The electrical wiring has been redone.
With its botanical motifs and organic lines, this chandelier evokes the aesthetic of the École de Nancy, a major Art Nouveau artistic movement that developed in Lorraine in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
A striking decorative piece that combines the richness of bronze with the luminosity of colored glass.
