Large Gate With A 4.20-meter Opening, Made Of Flat Iron
A large gate with a 4.20-meter opening, in perfect condition, crafted by the metalworking shop “A.JOURDAN, A BEAUCROISSANT in ISERE.” Made of 6 x 30 mm riveted flat iron bars with a twisted central rail, it opens into three panels; the central pedestrian panel, with a 1-meter opening, is adorned with an “A” monogram flanked by two sets of scrollwork. The top of the ironwork is shaped like a spearhead at a height of 180 cm. It is equipped with four hinges to be set in the wall, a latch, a floor-mounted bayonet bolt, and a pair of bolts in need of maintenance (see our last photo).
The average height of the hinges is 11.5 cm, and the total height is 156.5 cm.
