"Fireplace Plaque With The Coat Of Arms Of Paul-jules De La Porte-mazarin (53 X 62 Cm)"
Fireback with semi-circular pediment, in perfect condition, dated 1728, 18th century, with the arms of Paul-Jules de La Porte-Mazarin, 1666-1731. He is the son of Armand-Charles de La Porte-Mazarin 1632-1713 and Hortense Mancini 1646-1699, niece of Cardinal Mazarin. Duke of Meilleraye and Mazarini, Duke of Mayenne, Prince of Château-Porcien, Marquis of Chilly, Longjumeau and Montcornet, Count of Marle and Baron of Massy, Governor of Port-Louis, Hennebon and Quimperlé, he was received into Parliament in 1700 and became a Peer of France in 1713. He married Charlotte Félicité de Durfort in 1685, then Françoise de Mailly in 1731. Arranged on a hôtel, the shield, in a cartouche, bears a Duke's crown and a Peer of France's mantle surrounded by flowering branches. Plaque cast at the Chailland forges in Mayenne. This plaque was found in Vitré in Ille-et-Vilaine. Our last photo, the coat of arms of the de La Porte-Mazarin painted on the General armorial of Charles d'Hozier, for Armand-Charles. Coat of arms: Azure with a poleaxe futée or, surrounded by a bundle of the same tied argent with a fess gules charged with three gold stars broaching over the whole. Its weight is 70 kg.
