Louis XIII Sideboard
Walnut sideboard; the upper section features a cornice with a pronounced overhang; the oak side panels are carved with latticework; the two doors have diamond-shaped panels and are hung on wrought-iron pivot hinges. The lower section rests on a base consisting of two flat panels set within a molded frame with fluted uprights; the front features two fluted columns. The base (from a later period) rests on two straight legs at the back and two ball-footed legs at the front; a molded baseboard adorns this lower section of the piece. Two drawers with curved, molded fronts span the full width of the piece (rear handles).
