Pair Of Renaissance-style Bronze Bell Rings, 19th Century

A pair of bronze figures with a medal-colored patina depicting two porters in the Renaissance style.
One of the two is marked "A Brest" on the back.

Take a close look at the expressive faces, the clothing, and the finely woven baskets.
The details are superb, and the exquisite chiseling beautifully highlights these Renaissance-inspired figures.

They appear to be in motion and are reminiscent of figures from the German school of the 16th and 17th centuries, in the style of famous sculptors such as Troger, etc...
Note that one of them has a small chip on its breastplate, with small holes on one of the bases and a filled-in hole on the other.
One of the last has “À Brest” inscribed on its hood.
Inventory or collection labels are present beneath the base.
