Fine Earthenware Dinner Service, Creil And Montereau, Watteau Model, 108 Pieces, Late 19th Century.
Fine iron-glazed earthenware tableware set from the Creil and Montereau factory.
“Watteau” model, featuring a monochrome transfer-printed design in carmine red and purple. Inspired by the romantic and pastoral scenes of painter Jean-Antoine Watteau. Rococo-style friezes along the edges and romantic motifs in the center of the pieces.
Each piece bears the “Watteau, Creil et Montereau, terre de fer” chalice stamp.
The hallmark, along with the various engraved marks, allows this set to be precisely dated between 1880 and 1895 (before the permanent closure of the Creil site).

The set is in very good condition. Please note a few signs of wear inherent to “Terre de fer” pottery. No cracks, hairline cracks, or chips.
