Bas-relief Depicting Animals, Vietnam, Early 20th Century.

A hand-carved bas-relief in exotic wood. In the upper part of the composition is a bird of prey (eagle or falcon) perched on a branch of a pine or flowering plum tree. Deep relief (bas-relief) executed with great attention to detail, particularly in the structure of the feathers and fur, as well as the texture of the bark and flowers. The background is adorned with delicate engraved plant and grass motifs.

Vietnam, early 20th century.

Dimensions: 76 x 55 x 4 cm.

Good condition, with slight signs of wear, soiling, and cracks in the wood.
